Calling cows and spikes
« on: August 28, 2009, 07:14:03 AM »
Just curious what you all think about calling in cows and spikes.  I have called in many bulls, mostly using estrus calls, but because I once again did not get drawn for the Peaches tag   :bash: :bash:, I will be chasing cows come Sept. 8th.

Thoughts?   :dunno:

I've called them in a number of times (mostly unintentional). A lost calf call works and during the rut I've have them come running into locator bugles.

hey the hoochie mama is a great backup call, if you have a open reed call or even mouth reed, you can use them both like two or more cows talking back and forth.... bulls love that. they recently came out with a calf call called the baby hoochie mama its green with the same push call meconism. I bought it and it makes great calf sounds... so I use a mouth reed, my hoochie in one hand and my baby hoochie in the other hand, I sound like a whole herd coming through the woods, im excited to see how the bulls respond!!!
