Humpalicious Part Deux
« on: September 06, 2009, 04:09:50 PM »
I only had a three hour window to get out and fish today and in some of the worst weather I've ever seen, sending most people home. I had one of those days you dream about, maybe my best day fishing ever, rarely in that three hours did I have more than two consecutive cast's without a hookup. I hooked several coho over 10lbs, one in the 15# range doing aerials, I lost track after hooking around 20-25. The problem with my spot is I had no mobility and there were a ton of snags downstream and rapids along the edges that a larger fish could easily use to pull away quick. I don't like hooking more than I need to, but I just needed a couple more fish to make a full batch for the smoker, got it done, now if I don't get out again this year it's all good. The courtesy level has gone up out there, my hats off to everyone out fishing today, it was enjoyable not having a bunch of a$$holes running around out there, everyone was patient.

Really, must have a sweet spot I have yet to catch a silver or king :bash:.  Ill I can catch are humpies.  I hang out around the poop station and behind Kmart.  I don't mess w/ river road.  Hitting it again in the morning.  The humpies are still fun to play with. ;)

I'm hitting the coho at the head of the runs, the humpy's at the tail for the most part.
