First Attempt
« on: September 12, 2009, 07:07:10 PM »
If my back feels up to it I'm going to go out tomarrow and look for a bear.  I haven't hunted bears before.  I've bought a tag every yr. but never hunted them.  Just got the tag in case I ran into one.  This yr. I've had several one my trail cam in one area, so I was wandering if anyone had any helpful info.  I've not ever called for bears, plenty of coyotes but no bears.  What call do you prefer to use?  or should I just go stealth and find a good spot to sit and watch.
Work sucks!!!! I should be shed hunting

I still have had no luck calling in a bear. I gave it a try earlier today again. Good luck on your hunt.

You need to either find food and get in it.  Keep it slow and listen.  They make A lot of noise.  (don't be fooled by a squirrell)  Call like you do coyotes with an elk or deer or fawn bleat, or rabbit or something similiar.
