Pre muzzleloader scouting help

I usually rifle hunt, but I am going to try muzzleloader this season.
Are there different tactics/goals in scouting prior to the October 3rd opener?
I will be looking for elk in the Olympic PA. I did not go earlier due to weather conditions.

As I said in your other post, go out at night and listen for elk bugling. What does "PA" stand for? I would have thought "Port Angeles" but with "Olympic" in front it doesn't make sense.

Port Angeles is in the "Olympic" unit (621) maybe that is what he is sayin,  Hope he has a permit to hunt it though !!!
