To be honest we use to kill quite a few back there at WSU.  Then I started feeling kind of weird for just wasting them so I stopped hunting them.  I don't know, I guess I grew a conscience.  I know, I could have skinned them but most have a really ugly pelt and I didn't want a coyote fur hat anyways...

I voted skin and pelt 'cause there was not "sometimes" option. I don't kill alot of yotes, but sometimes they are just nasty and you have to leave em. I do have a skull and a few tails saved and I am looking to get the skull of a big male.

I have only left them where they lay, but i'd like to get a nice pelt or 3, so if i can manage to drop the hammer on a couple this winter, i think i'll skin them out if the pelt is nice.

popeshaunpaul,
"To be honest we use to kill quite a few back there at WSU."

When I was at Wazzu, We used to go down to Wawawaii and catch Carp and Pikeminnow (aka squawfish) during the day and throw em up on the train tracks... In the AM we'd show back up and plink us a few yotes... The local land owners, the cattle guys, would thank us for doing that.  They said they would lose 25%+ of their calves to yotes.  Saved one pelt that my roomate and I taxidermied, looked like road kill standing up.
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

I too shot my fair share of coyotes when I was at Wazzu.  If I had put half as much time in the books as I did in the field I would probably be a brain surgeon!

If they are of the real light color (cream to almost white) and in good shape then I skin them and have them tanned. I want to get a real big one and have a pillow made from one. They look real cool. Just like they are lying down sleeping. Most I just let them lay where they die.

Chalk up another vote for  WSU Cougar screwing off :chuckle: :chuckle: Man I was hardly ever in class during hunting season.

I leave em lay but would like to start skinning the nicer pelts.

Go Cougs.

Damn, there are a lot of us Wazzzu guys that screwed off over there.  We should start a WSU thread for screwing off, and everyone give their spots where they shot things and screwed off instead of going to class.  Yeah, we use to go down to Wawawai and spotlight coyotes along the breaks and shoot them.  Good chuker down there too.  Tons of stuff to do around there.  The best is I had my jet ski and would put it in at Lewiston with two 5 gallon gas cans on the back.  55 mph up the river and I would stop at the last place on the Snake to get gass there near Blackbutte, then would head up into the hells canyon.  It wasn't uncommon to go 140 miles in a day.  Some of those rapids are plain scarry.  I got 10 foot of air on some of those huge rapids.  Then I got smart and started to go around them.  People kind of looked at me funny when i was anchored up and steelhead fishing off the back of my jet ski with a beer.  Good times.
