My first turkey

I started off my season on a high note and shot my first turkey! It was a solid day, i shot my turkey and 2 grouse and my grandpa shot his turkey as well. shot for the pic its from my phone.

Congrats ...

I was on the hill about 40 minutes when I got my two birds ... had planned on a tom in Roosevelt unit, but found the wife was really sick when I called to tell her about the birds ... headed home instead.

Nice turkeydancer, sorry to hear about your wife. i ran into the first one with in the 1st 10 min of hunting! Then on our way out my grandpa shot his 50 yards from where i shot mine. I need to get my second tag and try it again!

hey emptyhanded, sounds like my first turkey kill.  It was 8 years ago when i was 9.  That was back when fall turkey was a drawing.  I got drawn and 5 minutes into shooting light, a flock flew right in front of me and it was over too fast! have had lots of experience with turkeys since then.

Well congrats guys ... wife is feeling lots better now, but about every 3 months she gets hit with diverticulitis, so think a surgery probably is in her future.
