Tampico? Just west of Yakima? There probably won't be but 1000 other hunters within a mile or two of you. I wuld expect to see a sea of orange on opening morning. I do not hunt anywhere near Yakima, unless I am 3 miles from the road.

That is the kind of info I am looking for never heard of the place before today....So is there much opportunity to get away from the rest of the hunters?

I've never done much hunting around the Yakima areas because of the crowds of people. I would say that anyplace that does not take a considerable amount of effort to get into, is going to have more people in it than you would like to see. There are a number of wilderness areas west of Yakima that you could get into and get away from the crowds, but I don't know how great the deer hunting opportunities are. I think there are deer there, just not in great numbers. There are definately folks on this site that could give you better info regarding this than I can. Good luck to you.

I was just around there for the first time. There is alot of roads around there so I am sure it gets lots of pressure. But I did see some areas that you could get away from folks.

There are places to get away, but there are far better places to hunt deer in this state. :twocents:

Take my opinion for what its worth, being as it's opposite of everybody's so far, but there are plenty of opportunities around there. Not too many deer left though. That's where I grew up. You can get away from people, use them to your advantage, or whatever. After opening weekend, you are golden. Trust me. But there are far better places to hunt for sure.
