maybe thats why they are tryin to outlaw the things! :chuckle:
Maybe you should consider a AK 47 i heard you can run them over with a truck and they still work so i guess throwing them at varmints wouldnt hurt them either .  :chuckle:

VarmintVentilator killed this one today at 130 yards with his 22-250 and 55 Nosler Ballistic Tips. He came running to the Minaska Bandit Blues full tilt boogie then promptly died with his foot in his mouth. He would have posted this but his computer usb port gave up.

I guess I was paranoid of the lack in responses lately, along with some criticisms by other hunters who seem to have an unfounded opinion about the right approach of when & how to use the howl..

 :lol4:

That will just teach ya to be careful with who you hunt with.  It was a SLIGHT criticism BTW...

 :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I am surprised, that you feel like you fall into that category of hunters who have "unfounded opinion's".  :kneel: Besides I have yet to here you use the howl, I am not criticising your methods by any means, but given the last couple of days I am beginning to think that you have already shot all the yotes in the area... :dunno:  Or at least the stupid easy ones. :chuckle:

Another stuff day, was able to call in this young female. On the 5th set of the day about 5 min's into the call I heard Big10 say here comes a yote, no just two deer, no its a yote, no just a bunch of deer, 5 seconds later I hear, no its deer chasing a yote, sure enough here comes 5 deer chasing this poor yote through the sagebrush and halfway down the hillside. She continued down the hill toward the bottom stopping at 191 yards, set was over. Big10 will fill in the blanks on the rest of the day.  :bash:

Well I wasn't going to say anything, But since you brought it up. BullElk and I did a great deed of compassion today. We were into the day about 6 hours and on the 8th set I think and doing the bunny blues again about at the 15 min mark and decided to howl instead. A pair lit up about a 1/4 mile away so traded a few howls back and forth. About at the 29 min mark here they come about 380 yrds down a hill towards us. At the 310 mark they held up so we starting squeaking. They came in real cautious, the male stopping at 130 yds and the female came in to about 80yds. Bullelk takes the 130 yd shot and as soon as he shoots I stand up and start swinging in the female and take the shot.We must of decided just before pulling the triggers that there were so few yotes in that area they needed a couple of warning shots so they could give us some more to shoot at next year. To you yote hunters out there a little compassion can yield greater rewards in the years to come. Actually I'll cut the BS, we just plain missed.  :chuckle:

Caught this one trying to take a shortcut. Really poor video

That comes as quite a shock as you guys being my mentors and all.  But I guess you're allowed a miss once in a while, we've had a couple of those ourselves come to think of it.  Falfire is in a bit of a rut right now, I need to get him out this weekend so he can get one.  He's starting to get a bit owly. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: He's a dang good shot, so I know he'll snap out it.  Good luck on your  next outing.

Describe owly

Yeah, I'm in a rut but it's my rut and I'll cry if I want to :'(

Funny thing about shooting, I can shoot a sparrow off of a fence post at over 400 yards but can't hit a coyote at 40 paces...Duh :bash: :bash:

Pathetic day for the rest of High Desert.  Saw 3 dogs all day.  All on private land, with no permission.  The first one up in the snow actually came running towards the truck right at daylight.  Once he recognized we weren't his friends, he turned and burned.  The next two were bedded together in the wide open at 100 yards at noon.  Once again, on the one piece of ground with no permission!  Took several pics before I could finally get them together in the same frame.  With these mid spring-like, 50 degree days, the hunting has gotten pretty difficult. :(

I went for an afternoon hunt and my wife called and said I have to be home by 4 to watch the kids. Got in one set and nothing but I did spot a porcupine that is no longer with us. Now I am home and she is not here yet so I should have stayed for another set. :bash: Better luck next time.
