I've about had it with morons
« on: December 27, 2007, 09:29:00 AM »
If you ever want to get shot at.  If you enjoy having people set up 20 yards away (in your line of fire) from your spot that you got at 5:30 am while they just show up around 7:00am.  If you enjoy a very limited area to hunt in resulting in more people per square foot than ducks, then by all means come on down to Vancouver.  If you also like getting charged too much then hit our local NWR.  God, I would sell my soul for a quiet place to hunt.
Moooon Riiiiver. Using your whole fist doc??

Actually, it's not for me...Only the good ones are still in the business!
But, with approx 350,000 of the "not so good ones" gone in the 12 months...I figured that I could put it on ebay or craigslist. I'd still like to see some pics.   :chuckle:

Sorry to hear the frustration.

It was a little crowded for us today but the birds were zipping by anyway. Too bad my buddies' gun malfunction but at least he took it back and got a new one. We managed to bag a couple during our short outing; 1 Snow Goose for Shadow Cat and I got a Wigeon which tasted real good. Jerm got a new shotgun  :chuckle:

It's even more frustrating when everyone shoots the same bird at the same time  :IBCOOL:

You got to love it when some guy claims your bird.  I shot a nice goose today and some guy sent his dog across the water to get it before I was able to get there ( I was clearly enroute ). The fellow next to us even told the guy claiming the goose that I had shot it. What a hog. He shot more than his limit and was using his partners limit to claim 6 birds total. His partner appeared to only shoot one bird. Time to visit somewhere less crowded  :chuckle:

Next time that happens I'll be sure to unload three shots into the bird as it lays on the ground so that he can eat more pellets than meat  :IBCOOL:

It was nice weather out for once though. Thousands of ducks but all flying too high.

Wow...never had that happen. I did have a Golden retriever come in to claim a duck I shot as my female lab was nearing it. (this happend on the Palmer Hayflats for the Alaskan out there). What happened next was incredible. Shuksan and the Golden got into a fight over the duck. Being a sneaky back shooting *censored* like I would of been in the Old West, she grabbed the Golden by the head and started to drown it. Never saw a dog do the things that Fire Island Lab would do. It was a pleasure to be in the Bush with her because there would always be something to remember her by.
Anyway I felt sorry for the Golden as it was just doing what it thought was the correct thing to do.

Oh and I forgot to mention. I was the first one out on the area and these fellows set up 15 feet in front of me and to the left. That didn't bother me much but just a data point.  :chuckle:

Trashmonkey I hear ya!

I want ya'll to know that I'm not a bitching, angry person.  I enjoy duck hunting so much that I want everyone to be respectful of everyone else.  Yesterday, I did'nt get pissed or mad on the guy that walked into my spread and proceeded to unload his deeks.  I invited him to sit with me and we could combine our efforts.  I met a really nice person and had a chance to educated on some hunters ethics.  I know, I know, everyones definition of ethics is different, but it was a teaching opportunity.  I did see a few troopers trucks hanging around the area.  There was some fools shooting at goonie birds (comerads) and some Hawks.  Hopefully the State boy's found them and gave them something to think about.  Happy shooting.  I still would like a calm quiet place to plaster some duckies.
cheers.

Well I am bitching. But it didn't last long. I found a little more solitude this morning.

Anyone shooting hawks couldn't claim mistaken identity. I know that the same could not be said for Cormorants from the air and afar.
