2 years in a row starting off the coyote season calling one in at close range and missing. i went out today after school hoping to get in a couple stands in a new area. set out with a timber patch infront of me stubble field to my right and summer fallow to my left. i was in a little brush patch with a lone ponderosa pine i was leaned up against. i sat down extended the bipod legs and started my calling sequence. i didnt get 2 minutes into it when i glanced over in the middle of my calling and saw a yote backdooring me circling around at 100 yards. i slowly put my call down and waited for him to get out of sight for me to turn around. he turned his head for a brief second at 40 yards and i turned and layed on my belly proned out. right when i was about to squeeze off (thump!) one of my bipod legs sucked up, and the gun went off just before it nailed the ground. the only thing i could see was the dust and soot from the burned field directly in front of my face!! one of the locking adjusters was loose. i pulled the trigger when the gun fell forward. i was on the little pissed of side of things. at least i know i got that out of the way and got the jitters out of my system to start piling them up with lamar_hunter again this year.
