Just checking to see how many guys use archery gear during the modern season?

I might be if I do a "lunch hunt" at the property we stay over in twisp. You can legally use modern, but I prefer archery or shotgun...just a bit safer. Otherwise, in the open public areas, I am using my rifle.

I havent decided.  I think when I know I am going to be in the thick timber I will likely take the bow cause I wouldnt be able to shoot anything further than about 50 yards.  If I am going to glass then I will be taking the rifle.

Almost always, but don't have to worry about it this year. :)

Makes having that multi tag a bonus, just hate paying that much to get it.

The multi-tag has been more a curse for me.  I spend way too much money hunting every season and pass deer that I should shoot because I "always have the next season".   This is my third multi-tag and am pretty sure it is my first one notched!

No, during a modern firearm season you may use any lesser weapon, such as muzzleloader, archery, or crossbow. If you have the multi season tag you can hunt every season but you have to use a legal weapon for that season. Muzzleloader for muzzleloader season and archery equipment for the archery season. Or any of the above for the Modern firearm season.

Or you can buy the modern tag and archery hunt during the modern season, you just have to follow the modern rules, regarding orange.

 :yeah:

I hunted with archery tackle during modern season last year b/c that is when the deer rut in SW WA. At least in the are I hunted.  I hunted from a stand so it was no big deal to wear hunter orange, I never saw another hunter in the field but I did have someone shoot a deer pretty much under my stand during the weekday when I wasnt there...could see where they dragged it all the way out of the cut about 3/4 of a mile then across the creek and to their car.

I didnt kill anything. It was a good hunt, my question is this...

WHY THE HELL IS MODERN SEASON DURING THE RUT IN WESTERN WA?!?!?! :bash:

Props to the stick and string guys that go get em' during modern seasons.  Not too many road hunting bow hunters.  Road hunting sucks.

I was putting in for Modern late tag, but like to bowhunt, so for the last couple years, thats what I did, bowhunt during the modern season.  I drew a multi season tag this year so actually hunted during archery season.  Glad too with this bug.

Depends where I'm at. If I get permission for some local property, there is a rifle restriction (shotgun/slugs) for that area. I'll be the only one on the property and would just set out a blind, wear my orange and use my bow so I don't bother the neighbors.
