Meat locker around Dayton
« on: October 13, 2009, 06:36:31 PM »
I called the butcher in dayton to see if we got elk and it was to warm if we could rent space to keep the meat cold. He said he does not deal with wild game. I could not believe it. Two of my buddies have cow tags and we plan on having plenty of meat. Anyone know of a place that has a meat cooler for rent?
Judging by the weather hopefully it will be cold enough but I just want a back up plan.
Thanks for any info
If its brown knock it down

There are a few landowners out of Dayton with cold storage..local hangouts may know for sure who they are.  Can't remember..sorry.
Wild Turkey, Walleyes, Whitetails and Wapiti..These are a few of my favorite things!!

The cooling room in walla walla is what i use. His name is dave and you want to call before you bring the meat.

I have been in and out of Dayton for years Ex wifes family is from there so I have spent more than enough time in the hills there. The Last Resort was only locker that would take animals without going to Walla Walla

I know your looking for a a cooler...but maybe i can add a solution to your situation if you dont find what your looking for. A couple of years ago....we decided to make our own....as its durring archery and it was so hot. We went and bought a small chest freezer that fits in the back of a truck. Then deep freeze milk jugs and 2, 5 gallon watter jugs. We have put numerous elk and bear in that freezer of the past few years. it spikes to around 45 when fress meat comes in...however every other day, we hit the generator for  5-6 hours and bring it down to 38-39. It has worked great and saved us a huge headache and gas bill to run to the butchers. Just trying to be part of the solution...do what you may with my feedback!
