Moose hunt info.
« on: December 27, 2007, 11:51:05 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone has any positive moose guides that they have used in the past. My 80yr young grampa and I would like to go on another B.C. moose hunt together. The last two trips that we have taken have been less than desireable. Moose were harvested, but once the animal was down it seemed like proper meat care was the last thing the outfit worried about. Looking to hunt in B.C. or Alberta.

a hunting pard had a worse expierience, they flew 4 hunters in on a turbo otter. they all took moose. they had to leave ALL the meat on the ground. the plane could have hauled most if not all of it. the outfitter claimed that was how he fed the grizz. they also found a booner set of sheds that they could not haul out....I can sort of understand that but the meat deal was over the top......good tyhing nobody got killed.

this hunt was out of deese or willaims lake....I will have to ask.

I am set to go with a outfitter out of Grande Prairie, AB this fall, 2008.  I talked to lots of references and to the Alberta guides association and got nothing but stellar reports on this outfitter.  You might check him out.  website is www.wildkakwaoutfit.com.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Try Stuart at Eureka Peak Lodge and Outfitters.  Between my father and I we have hunted bear, moose and goat with him.  He runs a great hunt and his guides are first rate.  There is his link:  http://www.eurekapeak.com/

Paul Lowrie which owns Corkscrew Creek Adventures is who I killed my Mtn Caribou with last year. Paul also guides for Moose, which I'm trying to weasel in a trip in the next year or two. Problem is he has a quota, most of his hunters are repeat clients. His operation is outta Anihim Lake, which is about 2-3 hours west of Williams Lake. Hellava guy, good horses, good food and good huntin. A buddy of mine went with Kispiox Valley Outfitters last year as well, killed a wolf, black bear, and a little bull winkle. Said there weren't many moose, lot of guys ate their tags, including his dad. The accomadations were *censored* too. Stuart Maintland, while never hunting with him, has a hellava reputation.
