European skull panel??
« on: October 15, 2009, 08:53:23 PM »
My dad just came back from Canada with his first moose and im really excited for him. The skulls already been boiled and is ready for mounting. I'd like to mount the skull on a panel for him. Any suggestions on which supplier I should use for the plaque? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
-ponyboy156

I make almost all my panels. Get something made for him from a local wood guy. You can get a lot better quality and a differnt variety in wood.

You can try research out of Oregon they would be the cheapest to ship up here..

Wow, I wasn't expecting that! Thats an awful kind offer Mark. I'll send you a pm, but not sure when I'll be around the Aberdeen area. My old man has never really been into horn collecting and hes never really took a large animal. Although this moose isnt all that big as far as trophy standards go(38") its definately the biggest animal hes ever harvested. He just retired under dissibility and underwent a back fusion surgery earlier in the year and another surgery the year before that. He was really apprehensive about being able to enjoy this hunt as he still cant walk very far in the woods. I just wanted to try and make a decent little mount for him as I think hes earned it over the years taking me hunting and letting me almost always take first shot.
I definately appreciate it Mark, I'll send you a PM.

We will put together something cool for your dad. Having gone through the pain of back problems and back surgery myself I wish your dad the best. Mark
