steelie eyed killer!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: October 19, 2009, 08:12:47 PM »
It took a little while for me to waddle my wife the half mile from the truck to the hill we were going to sit  to try and fill her 2nd doe tag on saturday morning.  It was pretty slow for the first few hours only seeing a couple small fork horns and a doe and fawn.  About 9:30 we heard some shots from the next canyon and pretty soon 2 bucks were coming our way and they were flat packin the mail!  A fawn distress call stopped em dead in their tracks at 170 yards and she let the air out of the smaller buck (the bigger buck was a 24"ish 2x2 no eye guards)  not half bad for being 8 months pregnant I say :chuckle:  She is one hell of a good trooper.

Congrats on the buck, and the new one on the way!!!!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

That is really cool. Most women I know would not ever dream of being out there deer huntting, let alone being 8 months pregnant. I wish my wife would come hunt with me....Congrats on a successful hunt!

That's absolutely great!  Nice job to you and your wife.  Sounds like she might be pretty tough - don't screw up or she might put the beat down on you.   :chuckle:

Saturday evening found us on the same exact hill top.  I am not a stand hunter it bores me to death so I fell asleep in about 2 seconds.  I wake up to my wife hitting me saying there is doe.  I look up and there is a freakin doe sniffing the gut pile from her buck.  She lets the .270 loose on her and a short 30 yard death run and a follow up shot and my wife is tagged out for the year.  I got me one hell of a woman!!  Now I just need that baby to pop out in the next 3 or 4 weeks so I have a little cushion so I can sneak away for late muzzleloader so I can have my turn.

yep you can never start too early.  My wife thought I was crazy when I made her turn sideways for the buck pics so everyone could see the belly!

Cool!  Way to knock up a stone-cold killer!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
