Hunted that very area the last two late season.

Camping.....well it is easy to find a spot when most people camp at the end of every old logging road.  But I think the camp ground at the Wynoochee dam is still open.

As for hunting.....depends on what type of hunting.  I mean are you a pack hunter like 90% of the hunters there or are you the other 10% that hike in behind the locked gates.  There is also elk in the private farm land along the river.  I have had some luck in the pass at getting permission to access thier property.

Pm me and we can talk about it a little.

Did you do any good last 2 seasons? I have seen some elk down low, but while I was berry picking up above the falls in Sept. I saw very little elk sign.

Ya, I killed a cow last year around the 7300 line.

Anything North of the Donkey Creek line is Skok unit 636 (no hunt) which is where the falls are located. There is elk around the falls in the winter(closed gate Oct), higher up in the summer though.  They come out of the park in the winter.

Seen up to a 100 head of elk in the farmers fields in one day on the river valley.  But it is pack hunting and I feel like I'm back modern rifle hunting not archery so you can have that rat race.  Poeple tresspassing running the elk back and forth through the river.
