I sure like my .300 RUM sendero... with the Defensive Edge brake installed the recoil is about like a 25-06... and I'm running 208s in front of 92 grains of powder.

Truth be told though... I'm convivced all I need for all my hunting is a nice 7mm Rem that weighs about 8 pounds all up... 120's at 3500 for my coyote/deer work... and 160's at 3100 for everything else out to about 1/2 mile or so. No sense in lugging that howitzer around anymore.

 no offense to nobody, they are obviously great rifles, but why on God's green earth would anyone want to lug a 13 pound rifle around hunting? holy moly you can do pretty well with something around 8-9 pounds all up and be shooting the same as you are or close to it.
am i wrong?

heck my day pack wieghs 23-24 lbs, if your gun shoots well and your confident withm it , in wouldn't care about the wieght, rather that than a light gun that shots crapy. that heavy gun will be real nice on those long shots most other guys miss. good luck with it . my 308 tac wieghs 11.5, but i think i'll have my buddy pack it lol .

Josh. Its taken me a few years playing with alot of rifles chambered in diffrent cartridges to end up at the same conclusion.

This is a pic of my 300 Rummy. It would have saved me a lot of money if Remington made lefthanded sendero's.



The Stock is a standard Remington Grey/black Laminated stock picked up off of e-bay.
The Action is a blue printed M700LH, blued.
The barrel is Benchmark 30", fluted, Varmint weight.
The muzzle brake is Benchmark's Varmint style brake.
Rings Seekings 30mm Medium hieght.
Base Seekings 20 minute rail.
Scope is Nikon Monarch-X 4-16x50 Mil-Dot 30mm tube.
Bipod Harris Notched 6-9" swivle base.

I am getting 3164 fps using the 208gr Hornady AMAX, Fed 215 primers, 102.5 grs of US869 powder. Shot a mule deer buck a 472 yds. The AMAX did a great job.

I guess for a truck gun/ canyon banger they ain't too bad.

The more I'm around my 240, the more I realize you don't need a great big  cannon for critters. 55 Bt's for varmits, 85 tsx's or 90 grain siroccos for bucks bulls and bear, out to a half mile or so...... all that in a sub 7lb package..

You and me both brother...

We could have pounded pert'near every critter this continent has to offer... and about half of Africa... with the dough we would have saved on guns and gear by staying with a sporter 7mag from the get-go.

I've seen what that seven you're totting can do... that one's about as close to perfect as you can get... aside from the blued pipe of course.

I like my Sendero... was shooting it out to 1k just yesterday. But, it's an anchor when I throw it in the Eberlestock. I really appreciated the little .243 youth gun my buddy was packing... it seriously weighed half what my rifle did.
