I bought an 11-87 when it came out in 3.5".  I grew up shooting an 1100 so I like how it points "familiar".

As far as functioning, it will eat anything including low base 8's.  I did have to break it in and that probably took 1000 rounds or so but after it has been broke in it has worked flawlessly and I have no problem taking it dove/quail hunting.

I had none of the aforementioned problems after breaking it in.
