I love those God-forsaken spots. They hold Godly deer!

Those are my favorite spots to hunt, because they tend to get very low pressure. Whether it's the high mountains or the far reaches of the desert, I love to hunt where others are reluctant to go. Congrats on a great deer.

Incredible buck! I love the deep forks, the dark color, and the nearly perfect rack! Congrats! Any pics of his body?

Thanks guys for all of the kind comments. The wife will be home any minute and off again for some glassing this afternoon. Be home monday for a little while and then back to the grindstone. I know I will be back in the hell hole agian because I know there are at least two more bucks in there, one of which is a monster. Hoping I can put the j107 back to work agian. Best of luck to everyone this weekend.

Hunting this weekend was great, although a guy got to my buck the day before and he ended up being 30 in wide with some really nice forks. Maybe in the low 190 range. Oh well that is what I get for having to work I guess. Anyway the rest of the time was great I saw 3 bucks on sat all of which were legal and nice but they will be much better next year and am wanting to hunt 388 all of next week so I didn't pull the trigger. I almost did on a 4x4 about 20 in wide with shallow forks but I guess he will be a nice 150 buck next year. Then the elk, my god they were everywhere. this weekend I saw 2 HUGE six points, 2 five points, 2 two points and 4 spikes and of course many many cows and healthy looking calves. No compaints from me.

Congrats on your buck. It's nice to see a lot of animals when hunting. Especially when you are humping up down steep nasty stuff. Keeps one motivated. Again congrats. Heck of a deer
