1st Buck
« on: October 22, 2009, 11:40:50 PM »
Got a nice 4 pointer at about 4 o'clock this afternoon. Shot was just a little over 100 yards and he went down with in 20 yards. One of my best friends was with me so that made it even better. We were hiking some draws to the north east of Ellensburg. He popped up behind us and stood there looking at us. Gave me a nice broad side shot. I have hunted waterfowl and upland birds for years but decided I wanted to go for big game. He had a grey face and no top teeth so I am guessing he was an old guy. After field dressing him I am really wondering about that elk tag I have in my wallet :o.

I posted around midnight and was a little tired from dressing the deer. I was actually to the west of Ellensburg in GMU 340. Your able to see the Stuarts way off in the back ground when I post the photos. I had quail hunted off of Park Creek road out by the wind farm in the morning. Saw a big owl in my usual spot but no quail.
