Man so sorry for your loss.
Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.

I'd like to know how long your camp was unattended?  And for two days why it was unattended.  A theif is right at the bottom of the food chain. Period.

Also think it's *censored*t that guys are going up a week in advance and setting up camp and leaving trying to claim a spot.
Would you rather everyone go up the day before or maby the day of opening day, and it be a free for all cluster fu#% We go up a week in advance and have for years never had anybody mess with our stuff luckily, but there is still plenty of spots to camp. Get over it.

sorry to hear about that, dirtbags that do this should be strung up. if i were going to leave a camp unattended for a more than a day, maybe a good idea to put up a hidden trail cam to capture any activity..

Here's an idea.....lets plant a robocamp along a mountain road to see who's dishonest....disgusting that idea even needs consideration.....

I am sorry for your loss bud.... it sure makes it hard to have a great season when you need to worry about everything you bring up to camp.  It's been a few seasons since the same happened to our camp.  The snows of I believe 96 hit and dropped several feet of snow so we decided to leave our camp and trailers up high.  It took us better part of a day and a half to cut our way out and by the time we hired a guy during season to doze the road our wall tent and stove were gone.  For the trailers the doors were kicked in and cleaned out.  Ya it sucks and we now have cameras on about 3 different trees.

We once had some stuff taken from our camp in Oregon.  I now set up a trail camera to capture anyone who comes in our camp.  Make sure you set it up to get their license plate.  A trail camera is cheap insurance.

brownduck, so sorry to hear of your loss. Makes a guy want to take a can of spray paint and cover all your gear with your last name or something to discourage the theft...let em look for other gear easier to sell.

Here is a link to a bit of similar discussion....over a year ago regarding back woods crime...        http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,11925.0.html

I haven't got intot he trail camera fad at all, but that seems like a cool idea for this sort of thing.
