Howard Hill Archery?
« on: October 23, 2009, 08:03:29 PM »
Anybody have one of these bows? If so how is the quality and shootability?

Looking to possibly get one soon and was hoping for some input.

The recurve bow I really want is three times as much and with the way the economy and our work load has been I will have to wait on it.

Hill makes a decent bow. Have owned a few. I like Robertson bows better. There a lot of really nice trad bows out there now.
I bought a silvertip from ( Schafer)  before he died in 1990. He was a really nice and humble and a heck of a hunter.I traded it in for black widow. I really regret it.

I have a Border bow. Made in Scotland and a really nice recurve. Also have a few Martin bows ( recurve)  which are nice bows for the money. They are made in Yakima and you can go there and actually see how they are made.  I stopped by a few years ago and really neat to see them made.

I know the guys who shoot Howard Hill bows swear by them. Never shot one myself but the reputation is good.

There's a lot of good bows out there to choose from. I've been looking at http://strikerbows.com lately.

I have a couple of home made bows as well as two others professionally done from http://selfbow.com and http://sapphirearchery.com       Both well done pieces of work.
