I bet those kick ass  :)

Enough of the tread jacking back to the dogs.  I think they are funner than chit to catch, but will not take them home.  I can usually find something a little better for table fare, but thats just my humble opinion.
Hunting and Fishing are not matters of life or death... THEY ARE WAY MORE IMPORTANT!!!

Sorry guys I don't do that vegetarian (fly fishing) thing  :chuckle: :chuckle:

I usally don't either in fact the two fly rods I have are the least used Sage rods I have out of the 5! I have two Steelhead drift rods a 286 & 386 and a 7'4 spinning rod that all have been abused over the years ... the fly rods look brand new  :dunno:

Too bad the chum aren't that RED. I've caught them and had them look pretty pink but never that red, that looks like silvers

Well it's amazing what a little food coloring will do for the eye appeal.

Im sooo confused by this thread...

Ive never seen anyone actually mad at a type of fish...lol  chums, pinks, who cares...  catch em all...eat em..dont even... who gives a rats arse? :dunno:

I would be happy to catch em all...  early this summer I went fishin with Tmike and we caught a lot of pinks and he tossed em all back...wouldnt even check em before hand..pink = toss em..   almost seemed mad to catch em...  I didnt argue because he knows way more than me...  sure was fun fightin em :dunno:

Later, my buddy went fishing and caught limits of pinks for days and I ended up with like 15 pounds...Ive eaten several of them and guess what...tastes fine to me :dunno:

Chums??  Id try it...  might like it...  might not...   might rather have a silver or a king or whatever...

maybe Im a different type of fisherman...  if the gold fish in my 55 gal tank get just a lil bigger Im gonna stretch some 2 lb test on my G Loomis Steelhead series rod and shimano curado and tear em up...

may or may not eat em :P

ps- I hate fishing compared to hunting!

also....   when is it good to fish the Nisqually for chums?  pinks?  whatever?   I live in Lacey and Id like a nice local spot...  Ill even do a lil combat fishin if need be :dunno:

I'm with Tat - I'll fish for anything, anytime...pinks, dogs, carp, turtles, whatever.  I won't eat all of it, but I'll gladly catch it.

As for the Nisqually chums, that's a later run that most.  I think it gets into high gear in December.  I used to duck hunt down there a lot, and there would still be chrome bright chums coming in at the end of December and into January.

I keep one or two a season, no darker than this one.  Bleed, & ice immediately, grill the same day and they aren’t too bad.  I don’t like them smoked though.
