Its really hard to hunt if you can imagine sand dunes with trees on the tops of some and in the bottoms of others, if you find a deer ( which are far and few between ) you have to see them before they see you its like a maze out there they go into one little dune and at the other end it leads into 4 more so on and so forth. they get away fast! on top of that its kind of difficult to walk its like hunting on the beach with hills!

We ride dirtbikes there and I have seen a few herds of deer.  Thought they might be more prevelent in the wilderness area.  Also, the fact that it would suck to hunt there I figured it might actually work.  At least there are no dang wolves there.  I am getting frustrated hunting on public land.  I like to hunt but dont really have the time to scout like I should. :'(

i am somewhat familiar with the ag land around the area, access is the big problem, I have seen some guys hunt it on horse back, some nice bucks hang out there I have even seen a couple of elk over the years.     you should scout it see if it's you kind of hunting ?

Dont hunt the dunes area if there are people ridding.  There is i wilderness area that doesnt allow anything with wheels.  It is a pretty big area.  The whole peterson road thing is a joke. BLM just needs to pave the small section in front of Petersons house and make him happy.  I have been dealing with this isue for years for the dirtbikes.  Just use peterson road and drive slow.

Wow, 103 yards.  I have never shot a bow, but that sounds long.

I had a friend that lived near the edge of it, and we went out for coyote a couple times and had some luck, but that was awhile ago.
