Has anyone ever herd of tri-star shotguns? if so what do you think?

I bought an over under last winter from the C store.  I've always wanted one and it was in my birthday budget.  Seemed nice, at least the 1 I held anyway.  Brought it home, put it together and heard some rattles.  Well apparently there was some weld beads that broke off somehow in the ribbing.  You could turn it upside down and hear them roll down the barrel.  The chokes also had some bad burrs on the forward inner part of the tubes.  I took it back and put the money towards a different gun.  Sorry I can't tell you how it shot.  That is my only experience with tristars.

Wow.  That's a pretty crappy gun.

:)I think I'd buy used of known quality before I bought new of unknown.

I have already warned a friend against getting a Tristar and he did not listen. Less than 2 boxes later he was trying to peddle it. Unless you have some $$$ you want to throw away, do not buy one.

Tri-Star is not a well made gun. A lot of quality control issues. Suggest picking up a used Winchester 101 or Weatherby O/U . Can usually pick one up for a little more than a Tri-Star. I ended spending a little more and purchased a used citori.
