GMU 460 Buck Down
« on: October 30, 2009, 04:17:05 PM »
Well folk's went out on the 26th of this month and was on mission to get my big boy 135ish B&C buck. Witch included sitting on deer trails and rub area's for hours and day's waiting for him and did alot of patrol's in the area with spot and stalk method and just walking normal to at least jump him so I could  have a chance to track him. His trails go in circles and he must stay put in one area and doesnt move at all even if you walk right on top of him. So with the help of trail cameras this buck will be mine next year and hes only going to get bigger hopefully not smarter. So to the buck I got it was about 10 am on thursday the 29 and I was getting mad about my buck that I was on. So I decided to walk 2 miles down to a good clear cut that I have seen alot of good sign at. So as I got there I started scouting around as I noticed fresh track's comeing in and fresh droppings So the hunt was on. The track's went in a half circle with him doubling back and so I said to myself you smart MF and looked around for a stump to sit on when a saw movement at 2 O clock of me at 140 yds. He was beded at right were I started tracking at thats why I said he doubled back. So he was trotting on this little slope right next to the road I come in on. I saw him moveing fast saw the big body saw what looked liked horns and took a 140 yard off hand shot and hit him right in the neck. He went down hard and did a front flip got up and went down the hillside. So I ran 140 yards to the top of were he went down the hill at and saw him as he went behind a brush pile. I looked for a stump to shot from I saw one got rested on it then he come out from behind the brush pile and put one right behind his shoulder droping him in his track's. Got Him at 12:04 p.m. on Oct 29 2009 GMU 460 In Markworth State Forest used 7mm rem mag 175 psp cl he was a good 2x2 live wight 190ish dressed out at 173ish...
