Photoshop Essentials "Not Responding"
« on: November 03, 2009, 01:34:03 PM »
I recently purchased Photoshop Essentials and I really like the way you can organize photos, and I am still learning all the ways to edit photos as well.  The problem I am having is that it is constantly "Not Responding".  It will do this for about 5 minutes, and then I can use it again.  Then it will only work for about 10-15 minutes and go back to "Not Responding" again.  It wastes a lot of time and is very annoying.  I hope this is not too general of a question, but I hope someone can help on this one.  Thanks.

Does sound like a lack of RAM.

You may want to go to www.crucial.com and check into upgrading your RAM.  I did this for my wife's computer and my computer and doubled the speed on both.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I had a similar issue years ago with PS 5 because of a scratch disk issue. I would think that those are a thing of the past with technology being what it is but you never know.

Just to give you an update.  I went to crucial.com and bought and installed 2 GB of RAM and I have no issues now.  PSE is running like a champ.  Thanks!
