Yep, and its extra bitter because its cow tag soup!  Really weird hunt in the Little Naches.  We saw lots of cow elk the first two days, then nothing.  Even had 6 inches of snow on Friday, walked a 4 mile line and didn't cut a single track, squirrels and rabbits only.  Drove down that afternoon, same thing...

chili works better than stew... (for deer anyway) I'm gonna have to see what works best with an elk, bear, and cougar tag. But I still have a few more days (late season) before I'm cookin up some deer tag chili.

Anyone else eating a bowl of tag soup this year.
This is for the guys who still have there deer tags..
ARE YOU FRICKEN SERIOUS!!!!!
The seasons not over, heck it's only half time and your throwing in the towel (backwoods your a husky so i understand that), heck backwoods has a multi tag and is talking tag soup, so sad.
There are still lots of options to fill a tag if you actually look at the regs.
The 4 day late westside hunt is in my opinion a better time to be out than the general season in october.
And for the guys with gas money and vacation time the late eastside whitetail hunt is just getting started.
Man this post make me think of all the guys i talked to during the general season that were sitting in the camps at like 10 am,  opening day watching the fire saying "theres no deer, its too hot, it's too cold, there are to many people, its too foggy, its too rainy,it's too sunny. etc etc etc) cry me a river..
As my dad would say "Sh#t or get off the pot!"..
How many of you sat on your butts on halloween here on the westside with the great storm that blew through? That was the best day of the early season to be out. You cant hunt from your couch, computor chair.
If someone needs a partner (non hunting) to go out with them and help them/push them, help spot deer give me a pm..
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Damn, way to keep a positive attitude man.  I'm sure you can find a good recipe from all the ones you've collected over the years.
