Funny Dog Stories Here

Anybody have any good stories about their hunting dogs? Post anything funny, weird, scary, or just plain bizarre story that has to do with your hunting dog. I'll post mine later, but first I'll tell what happened to a friend of mine:
He picked up this lab mix for free, and was planning on using it for a duck dog. Problem was he was mixed with a tiny bit of wolf. The average guy wouldn't be able to tell the difference, except the dog's head was a little chunky looking. He named the pup and tied him up to an old doghouse in the back yard. Whenever Bill was gone to work, the pup would bark all day and piss off the neighborhood. So Bill left the dog in the house whenever he would leave, and the dog did fine that way for over a year and a half, at which time he was pushing 120 lbs. About that time, Bill and his wife found a hell of a deal on some nice leather furniture. Big couch and a puffy chair for just a couple grand. They set the couch up in the living room, did some decorating, and left for work the next day.
While they were gone, the Wolf dna kicked in. Bill says it must have been the smell of the leather
because the dog went ballistic. In Bills words, "He f*****kn
ATE
my couch!" He tore the couch right down to the frame.
Otherwise, he was a hell of a nice hunting dog.

i'm getting ready to move so i was out in the shop yesterday and i couldn't find my right hand man...errr dog i called for him and called for him... the i heard a wimpering from the back of the shop.... he had climbed the small fold down ladder into my attic and couldn't get down... i thought it was funny.... he's a funny guy but very serious about birds... he'll be in the shop with me working and about every ten minutes he'll run out of the shop and set up on point because either a bird flew in front of the shop or they're landing in the yard... and he also has a bad habit of snatching up tools that i lay down and running off with them.... the wife says i spend more time with the dogs than i do her... i tell her it's because the dogs don't nag.... that never goes over very well

First lab I had did not birds flew 'cause I ground strafed so many. hahahaha First one I shot on the fly and fell to earth got me a look from the dog. It was like..."What the hell was that boss? The bird fell out of the sky and onto the water! Wow, I'll go get it."
Then on another trip we had our canoe set up in some weeds and decoys out in front. My partner was having one of those days when he could not miss anything that flew by and I was having little success. Finally Shuksan, up and moves right next to Bob. Will not leave his side 'cause he is getting all the action!
My current lab is a real great dog, but he has one bad habit. Any new partner I go out with that lays his pack down will get Gus's attention real quick, he will pee on it! I just don't understand that action but each and every time he'll try to pee on the pack!

as a young boy of about 8 a mangy mutt found its way to our house..not sure what it was but looked like Shepherd and elkhound mix..I named him newt..well newt would get out of anything I tied him up with.He loved his freedom. He came home one time and had a rope on him someone tied on him..Well My dad and I was fishing a small slough on the bank for black bass. And newt disappeared. We heard a ruckus, here come newt with a stringer of fish running towards us,Not far behind him was a tall skinny older black man chasing him and calling him every kind of word you could imagine.when newt got to my dad and I, he sat there looking at us with that, look what I brought you look on his face.well the black man{ reminded me of a black Mr Greenjeans} arrived he demanded the fish stealing dog give back the fish..Dad went to grab the stringer, and newt gave him a growl,Dad looked over to Mr Greenjeans and said you want them you take them..Mr Greenjeans got that look in his face like o buckwheat when he was surprised, turned and left muttering something..I'm sure it wasn't good..After awhile newt abandoned the fish and roamed some more,we brought the fish back to Mr greenjeans and left,so did he watching his back trail very good..Newt left the house one day,and never returned..Ol newt sure missed him..
