Dirty Thirty shoot
« on: January 05, 2008, 06:05:08 PM »
Anyone make it to the Dirty Thirty shoot in Puyallup today.  Me and my huntin partner made it and there wasn't very many trucks there.  We got through 30 targets in about 2 hours, only seen one other person on the course.  I hope is was just the game and not a lack of interest.  The bad weather that was predicted didn't show up it was perfect weather for a shoot.

We did hit it shortly after daylight but when we got off the course at 10:00am there were only about 30 or 40 trucks in the lot?  These guys put a lot of work into setting up a good shoot, we need to support these things, the targets aren't cheap and volunteers are few and far between.  And it's nice to do a little BSing and braggin with fellow bow hunters.

Four of my friends and I went. I agree that we need to support these shoots. Went to the shoot at Capitol City yesterday and today. They also put on a good shoot.

That's one of my favorite shoots of the year, I love the up's and down's and across canyon shots.  They have a great piece of property for a bow shoot.

this is the first i've heard about this, which isn't saying much being an archery noobie, but i would have loved to, and probably could have drug a couple other buddies out, so how does one find out about these shoots?
i know that i signed up for mailers for the sporting clays shoots at the tacoma sportsmens club and i get a postcard evry time they have a shoot.
if there's some shoots coming up, somebody should post on here and let us know...guaranteed there'd be a few people showing up from that kind of publicity.
is there any shoots next weekend?

Oops, that was 30 targets in 2 hours.

Is this a sagebrush shoot, any good terrain, I've never shot a 3D in the open country I wouldn't mind making the 3 hour drive. Please post some info.

Thanks,
Coon

I've never been to that one. My friend and I go to the Sisters shoot every June. They have some elevation changes but the biggest challenge for me is the more open terrian.

Backstraps hope you have a good recovery. I don't think I will make it this weekend, but will be and Frostbite shoot here. Unfortanatly I have to miss the Zillah shoot,
that one is a fun shoot, I like the shot placements. I will have to remember to wear my Hunting-Washington hat to the shoots, hope to see you at some.
