Help! Guys with deer calling experience.
« on: November 20, 2009, 09:28:17 PM »
Hey there, I know its a bit late but I am getting ready to go blacktail hunting in the white river unit and know its in the rut and was looking for some help, advice with tactics to call in the big one.  There has been a few spikes around and a real monster 4point.  I saw his neck of the woods and would like to call him in or call someting in.   I have a primos call that does buck, young buck and doe bleats.  Any advice would help.. Thanks and yes I will be taking pics all weekend.

I'd stick with bleats and go fairly easy on the calls.  Lots of patience

Ive never called or heard of much success calling blacktails. spot and stock/sit and wait, scout scout scout scout. make sure that's not an electronic call your using too

We have scouted plenty, I already have a route to take with my bro, just thought I would try some deer calling to see what happens.  And no its not an electronic call.

Just keep it sparse or you'll act just like repellent to anything other than a spike or young forkie
