After you missed the 3rd time when he was broadside at 120yds you should of just put your gun down.

Not necessarily.  Been bow hunting for 25+ years and have missed only 2 shots the entire time and they were due to 40+ mph winds.  Never missed with a rifle or shot gun.   :dunno:  When it happens it is time for a little more time at the range.  I can see missing 1 or 2 but anything over that and you need to stop shooting and find out what is the matter.

being that you missed 5 times, you could have bumped your scope off, did you check it after?

You get over by being glad that you missed and knowing that the critter is still alive and not wounded out there somewheres.

Squeeze you dribble and you shoot you don't always make it! Stay confident you will get one soon! I'm 26 and have been hunting since I have been 10 and have almost took a buck every year but I have missed tons of big bucks and I always felt like it haunted me! But just remember next year is a new year and there will still be plenty of bucks out there. That's why it's called hunting! You just never know when it's your time for getting your biggest buck. My last three bucks in the last three years have been my three biggest bucks!
