ballistic coefficiebt question
« on: November 28, 2009, 02:22:27 PM »
in reading the most current nosler reloading manual I noticed that the coefficient for the 225 grain .338 caliber partion is .454 and the accubond is .550 which all seems normal but the .358 caliber 225 grain partition is .430 while the accubond is .421? does that seem odd?

It does seem backwards to me but I havent used the 358/225gr Accubond so I cant guess as why the BC is lower then the partition.
I'm sure if its not a mistake then its in the bullets construction/shape/length. The Accubond must have a big heavy chunk of lead in it making it short and stubby.
You can always post a question over at the Nosler forums.

Its has to do with the cal and its weight. Theres probly more lead and less of an angle in the boattail then in it then the partion which makes it shorter.
