how to tell a cows age?

my dad popped a cow in radle on sat. gonna help him cut it up on wed. he was asking, is there a way to tell the age of a cow elk by there teeth or anything else. any help?

by the teeth is the best method in the field.  You can get a guide from the game dept. that shows the teeth at different ages.  Might be able to find it online too.

you can talk to the dept of fish and wildlife and get an envelope that tells you what teeth to cut out and how to do it, you then put them in the envelope and send them to f&w, the will determine the age and send you the info. it takes a few months but it lets you know the age for sure. im not sure if its free or not it might be like ten bucks.

yep you can tell by the amount of teeth left in her head, you see enough of them you can get good at guessin the age of them.
