Skagit River B tag info
« on: November 30, 2009, 10:40:34 AM »

Does anyone know who the Hunt Master is for this hunt or how to find out?

Anyone else have this tag?

No one?

This is a hunt master controlled MH hunt.  It started today and I haven’t heard anything, don’t know who the hunt master is.  I’ve called the area office a couple of times but I haven’t found anyone with any information on this hunt.

Is it standard practice to hear nothing from either WDFW or the Hunt Master for these hunts?

Try calling Olympia.  I don't know anything about this hunt.  You might also try getting a hold of the local warden.  Good luck.

Not to bag on you CP but seems like these details should have been figured out long before the first day of the hunt.

Third option is to just go hunt the area for the tag, bet you find someone then....  :o

I have drawn a couple of the "Hunt master" hunts in the past and never received a call. I do believe that the Hunt Master will call you when and if there is elk damage in the area.

This hunt doesnt make much sense to me! But then again I am confused by WDFW's decisions a lot of the time.  There is already a late bow season that last's thru January, also a limited muzzle loader season for the same time period, and also the same area.  So they also have a MH hunt for it also!  No wonder so many maggots get away with poaching around here...how are they ever gonna keep track of everybody???

hmm, if its called as needed I think you might have gotten screwed.  The herds in the damage area are getting ran pretty hard right now.  My guess would be next year this could be a good tag to draw.  I am hearing grumblings that they are going to just shut down the damage hunt for everyone this next year.  The last two years have been ugly.  To many trespass complaints, people shooting from the highway and county roads etc etc.  They were hoping switching it to archery would have alleviated the problem, unfortunately it just made it quieter.

Yep, I may have wasted a draw pick on this one.
