Worst/best multiple bird/one shot incident?

Saw the question about pins and was reminded how I ended my 1995 season... (I think the statute of limitations is up). 

I had finally gotten a nice mountable pintail as well as a teal.  I was thrilled.  Heading back to the truck I saw some mallards up a slough.  I figured I'd try to finish my hunt with two mallards.  I dropped my gear and belly crawled to within 35 yards.  I poked my head up and saw two drake mallards standing with their heads next to each other.  They were the only birds I could see so I squeezed off the shot (please keep your "ethics" to yourself regarding shooting a duck on the ground/water).  About two to three hundred birds took off into my shot pattern and I ended up with 23 birds down.  I let 4 swim that were in the water (no dog this trip) and rounded up the rest.   Uhhg!  I chose to not hunt any of the remaining season (4 1/2 weeks) figuring I had limited for the year.
I kept the first pin seperate from the ones dropped with the mallards.

I am not proud of this fiasco, but I feel I did the right thing by collecting as many as I could and taking the chance of getting caught so as to not waste any birds.  So, what I am asking is not for any judgement calls, just "What is your worst multiple bird/one shot experience?"

When I was a kid (around age 11 or 12) I killed 6 quail in one shot with my .410.  I spooked them into a tree, snuck up and shot them off of the limb.  The limit was 10 so I was well on my way. I finished out my limit with birds on the fly.  It was pretty cool back then but I wouldn't shoot any out of a tree now, except for grouse.

When I was younger...We used to shoot coot (hate to admit it in public but they are damn tasty now leave my coot alone!).  Snuck up on a raft of them that were swimming along the bank of the columbia.  Two of us opened up on them 3 shots each.  Ended up with 41, we stopped hunting for the day, it took awhile cleaning 41 birds.  Had a great gizzard feed that night.

Nothing really special.

Dumped two GE drakes this year with one shot.

I try and refrain from shooting at groups of birds too close just so I don't scotch double.  Too many groups of redheads, bills, and cans moving around to screw up.

It was either last year or the year before.... I had a group of 6 bluebills come and sit in the decoys. 4 drakes 2 hens. took one shot when they got up and dropped 3 drakes!  I was done with bluebills for the day

i killed 2 birds with one shot 6 times last year, including one time to finish off a 7 birds in 6 shots limit i was shooting good that day

I think my best shot would be this season.

Jump shooting some small ponds by a wasteway.  Dog ends up going into the Russian olives and I hear water.  Out comes a drake greenwinger to my left, dropped it, hen came out in the same spot, dropped it, then spun to my right and caught a 3rd teal coming out and dropped it.  3 shots, 3 teal down.  Ended up finding an amazing GW teal hole and shot 7 that day with 9 shots.

....23 I cant believe it...and are you sure you didnt shoot 3 times???    ...sorry, I am sure it did happen the way you said ......   I have murdered a covey of quail with my friend when we were in our teens...saw this group REALLY huddled up,  down this draw in the snow...it was a little bit of a further shot, so we stuck in our 3 and 1/2 inch turkey rounds, well we snuck to within 30 yards , counted to three and slayed that poor little pile of birds with one shot each....they were laying all over the place , I think there was like 11 or so ... didn't do that any more ...felt bad when my dad thought we had done really well, cuz he thought we finally learned how to shoot...I've also doubled on mallards, geese, and buffleheads within the last year. ..oh and grouse in the road one time....

Nothing too wild on numbers for me.  I was jumpshooting stockponds and was about to pull the trigger on a crossing ringneck at about 30 yards; out of the corner of my eye I saw another ringneck was about to intersect crossing opposite.  Held off a fraction, and touched off as their heads were coming together, dropped both - unfortunately not dead, both were swimming/diving crippled.  Fortunately, learned that day my dog would dive to catch cripples, took several minutes but she grabbed each one underwater and brought them to me.  Not bad for a border collie!

Haven't tried for an intentional double since then, but have pulled a few scotch doubles.  Never a triple or higher.

When I was a young buck my dad dropped me off at the old family farm to hunt the sloughs.  One of the fields was flooded and I could see a few mallards sitting behind a fence section that had overgrown weeds and brush right next to them.  Perfect scenario for a sneek.  I was probably 13 and could care less about ethics of shoooting birds on the ground, I just liked to have a full bag when pops came back to pick me up.  Anyways, I put the sneak on 'em and got to within about 10 yards.  I could see a drake and a hen right next to each other, I needed two to fill my limit, so I pulled the trigger and stood up to see and there layed four dead birds.  

Dad had a nice chat with me about seeing the whole picture and the importance of following the rules of limits and what not.  I think it was meant to be.  I learned a lesson and nothing went to waste.

My wildlife law enforcement professor had worked 30+ years as a state and federal officer before retiring to teach.  I remember him telling a story (lots of great stories!) about working the rice fields in Arkansas and watching a guy crawl up on slough mallards were swarming into after sunset.  After the mayhem (3 shots), he and the shooter gathered up 22 mallards and quite a few more cripples got away.  That was the first time he had ever got a judge to take away hunting privileges on a waterfowl case.

Last year I got 4 mallard drakes with 3 shots. Thats my best to date. Finished off the limit with 6 shells

I got 3 ducks with one shot years ago. Picked out a big greenhead and got two and a hen. I've got two geese twice. I know a guy who got two turkeys with one shot but he did it on purpose then was pissed when he realized his season was over.

Also forgot about my first goose/geese.

Hunting the Columbia we had a group of geese come decoying in.  I was around 10 at the time and was hunting with my youth model winchester 20 gauge shotgun with 3" #2's.  I shot one shot and dropped 2 geese.  Didn't even fire a second shot off.  I was way too excited, my first goose ended up being geese!

Back in high-school my brother, me and a friend snuck up on a flock of mallards sitting in a flooded field.  They jumped at about 40 yards and my brother and I both shot twice.  There were ducks falling all over the place.  We ended up with somewhere around a dozen birds down.......I can't remember the exact number now.

We turned to our friend and asked him how many times he had shot; he said he didn't even shoot, there were so many ducks falling he didn't know what duck to shoot at....

Two friends and a third hunter used a plywood cow silhouette to sneak close to a flock of snows in Nebraska.  Dropped the sihouette and emptied the guns.  Fortunately, the limit is 10 apiece, unfortunately they had 62 geese.

well I have had some pretty amazing things happen but my fav story to tell is this...I was hunting the Touchet river, it was freezing cold outside and everything was froze up minus the river...Ducks everywhere me and a buddie went down and decoyed the river we almost had our limits in about 20 mins...well 2 mallards came around the cornor and I stood up and dropped them both with one shot....nothing to special it happends a lot but when I went up to get my ducks the hen was double banded with a 100$ reward ...what makes this so special is the fact that had I not killed both with one shot, the hen would have been let go and I would have never known lol! it was pretty sweet!!

7 greenheads with 3 shots snuck up on some ducks feeding on a cornfield near moses lake, almost had to kick the ducks to get them off the field i literally walked right into the middle of the flock emptied my gun and dropped exactly my limit

I officially started hunting waterfowl when I was 9 after passing hunter ed.  Started shooting them at 6 as my dad had a cut down single shot 20 gauge that he would let me shoot at decoying birds.  I think I was 7 or there abouts and had a flock of teal come in and I nocked down 4 with one shot from the 20 gauge.
