What about some of those life-size stuffed animals?  They have dog ones, and probably others.

Back in the day before mojo's etc.  We used to tan up a snowshoe rabbit hides.  Then sew them around a small beachball with the stem sticking out (my buddy had his sticking out the backside (wish I could of got a picture blowing up a rabbits arse).

We would then tie it off on something to the ground.  With a little wind it sure looked like a wounded rabbit doing the death flop in a trap.  worked real good, I should build me a new one now that I am thinking about it.

I have a fawn and a coyote. Two problems. Size and portability is an issue, and you will not be able to stake them up when the ground is frozen. Other than that I do use the. I especially like the coyote during the doggy rut when there's snow.

Ive got a jack in the box for sale in the classifieds for half retail price and only been used 4 times. that's my suggestion.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on decoys for predator hunting?

Lots and lots of yotes have been smoked with a turkey feather on a piece of fishing line and a swivel, very effective.  That said I just bought the mojo critter and love it.  :)

Wing feather or tail feather?  My dog chewed my decoy top but still have the base and was thinking of using a feather.

 :yeah:

I made up three of those last week.

Also, I ordered a "Loco Motion" cat toy from Walmart last week.  Added some fur to it and tried it out yesterday.  No dogs in the area, but the unit held up nice in freezing weather and gave great action.  Comes in three pieces, so it's easy to transport.  It also has a timer, speed control and a push-button on/off switch.  Not a bad deal for $15.00 plus a few bucks for shipping.

I always used a wing feather for the color contrast, black and white, but I imagine a tail feather would work just fine.  Rig one of each up and see.

Straight Shooter, any motor noise with that?

I only have a wing feather, but I may head into the turkey woods close to my house and gather some up.  Thanks.
