Plunking the Columbia River 4 steelhead ?
« on: December 14, 2009, 02:20:24 PM »
I would like to know if anyone ever Plunks the Columbia River "Around N.F. Lewis" For Winter Steelhead?  I do it alot in the Summer Run but never have in the Winter....is it the same?  Do the Winter Fish Run close to the bank Or deeper where it would be colder?   :dunno:  Any info would be awsome.  Thanks Bowhunter
The wife said if I go hunting 1 more time, she's going 2 leave me!!  Gosh I'm gonna miss her.

I've always wondered about fishing the main-stem for winter-run, but never tried it.

Last springer season a boat next to me in the hog line caught 2 Big steelhead in 1 day and no springers. The guy was pissed because he had only caught steelhead and couldn't get a springer his last 3 trips. All were wild fish. LOL another boat in 35' of water caught an early summer run 2 weeks later. That was unexpected!!

Is the taste of the bait worth the sting of the hook twice?
