Muzzleloader World Record Roosevelt?
« on: December 14, 2009, 07:35:19 PM »
-Anybody hear the story on the Bull that beat Jim Shockeys world record? I heard it was shot off the British Columbia Coast and the Hunt is on video. Cant wait to hear and see the footage if its legit!

Alan Shearer from Belfair? I live in belfair and seen the bull. That is what guys were saying. Sometimes its hard to tell with Rosies and I dont know half the facts so please dont quote me at all. I know or have heard that Alan doesnt spare cost to hunt including gov tags and 400+ bulls so I would not be suprised. I have the #3 non typical rosie (pick up) in my possesion :)

This is my pick up non typical bull from the Clallam Dickey unit. The bull scored 369 and was #3 for Washington. Skull/rack was found by a buddy in 1980 or so when he was coming down off a mountain in old growth timber. It took me years to get it off him as it hung in a barn. I was able to get it officially scored just before the skull plate broke due to the weight of the antlers. I plan on having it restored as you can see some points are worn down. The non typical side is over 24" and the bull once had a similar point on the opposite beam but it broke off during the year he died.

Awesome Bull. Wish it had some color to it. Imagine that thing all dark blackish orange from rubbing alders.

Thanks so much for letting us get a look at that. That is a bigun.

Ive seen pics of that bull before, it is definately worth restoring and putting a fresh cape on that bad boy! I mounted another non-typical Roosie that had a long kicker off the same side like that one last year. It was like 359.
