Age of gun from serial number?

Is there a way to tell what year my Remington 870 Wingmaster was made by the serial number?
I would rather be a conservative nut job, than a liberal with no nuts, and no job!

serial number is on the receiver. Write or call Remington they can do it.

My 1957 Remington Speedmaster 552 did not have a serial number, so I looked up the barrel code.  8)
Howa 1500 in .270 Winchester Shootin handloads.
