You'll have to bare with me.  I have been trying to master this duck thing and let me tell you, its alot easier to shoot one then it is to focus and stay focused and pull the trigger.

I love shots like that especially ones that can isolate the pellets just before death.

You gotta let me in on the wood duck spot. I hear about people shooting them a dime a dozen but I never see them where I go. I'd drive three hours to shoot one and have it mounted.

There are a lot fewer of them this year than normal.  I about froze waiting for them to start moving.  I could hear them talking but they were in the thick.  I use a teal call to talk to them...kinda similiar.

THANKS!   These were shot with the 70-200 and mostly on the low side as it was hard to get a focus with the big lens....

Great Pics Bone, i always look foreward to seeing your latest pictures, I have been struggling getting good shots of birds in the air. Are you shooting off a tripod/ monopod? or are you free handing it? Is your lense the 70-200 L series with IS? looking at upgrading lenses and have started to rent lenses at Glazers to get a better feel for them before I buy. As always gret work.

Wow Bone, you have quite a talent there. I'm very impressed. I saved a couple of those pics to send my pop-in-law, in Indiana. He'll love them. Good job, I look forward to the next batch.

I saw three other species of ducks and one real rare one for these parts, but didn't get them on film.  Maybe sometime I can get free this week.

I saw a Harle today, and I have never seen one on this side of the mountains, this far south.  I know they nest up north in the Methow on rare occasions, but I never see them around here.  I hope he hangs around.

Hey Bone, we have a gaggle of Harley's up here along the bays. I see them almost everytime I go out in my boat.
