OK, I think I've decided, although it was difficult.

The first pic was taken on the 4th of July weekend on a goat photo safari with Timber.  It is in the Mt. Baker West unit.  I had some other pictures, but I can't not post a mountain goat picture in an open month.  Plus, it seems to fit along with the general theme for this month.  (I swear we need an OIL species POTM category!).  I really like this photo because it gives you a good idea of the country that we get to see goats in around here, there really is nothing like it!

The second pic is of a ptarmigan I found in early October while helping BillyG on his goat hunt.  We saw at least 5 or 6 that day, but this one was in the best lighting.  We had already experienced two snow storms that month and the ptarmigans were starting to add their winter quote earlier than normal.  I love chasing around ptarmigans, especially in this particular spot.  I have had numerous experiences of almost stepping on them before ever seeing them!

Both pics were taken in 2009.  Hope you enjoy.

If you want to see the other pics I was considering using, feel free to look at my poll in the Photography section of the forum.

Thought I'ld toss a couple pics into the ring.
Not the most sophisticated camera out there these were both taken with a Kodak EasyShare Z950 it's a 12mp with a 10x zoom.

OK the hunting buddy contest isn't until Feb. but what the heck, here are two of my best hunting buds, my dog Filson and my nephew Payden, I had the ol Kodak cranked up there to get this shot out past the 10x range and alitle into digital zoom, not the best quality shot, but what a day in the field is all about good times and good buds. The geese just weren't flying that day so the nephew got bored and barowed my dog to go try jump shoot some widgen off the slough behind him, coming back empty handed, but not for a lack of effort.

This pic I believe is Elk Creek, it was taken from a top the high bridge on the Kalama rvr rd 6000line it was deer season and I had a new camera, just had to shoot something. The pic doesn't really do the vista justice looks better on full res. One of these days I'm gonna have to climb down there.

I came across this fallen monarch while hunting two months ago (November) in the Sherman unit.  The consenses was...he was probably brought down by a cougar!  :dunno:
