Never seen a spotted skunk before, kind of a pretty pelt on em.  You should think of replacing the mole skin.  Smell probably not that much worse after chili.

Very cool looking pelt, you going to tan it?  Smell will not only NOT hurt your set but can bring curious critters in for a look see.

Next time try a double lunger. Sometimes they won't spray with a lung shot. Worth a try.

If you have several of them over there, drown the next one.  Drowning=no release of musk.  Then use the hemostat forceps to clamp off both sack nipples, easy and odor free skinning after that.  If you want I can send you a detailed skinning tutorial for odor free skunk skinnning.

I think those are civic cats.  I use to trap mtn beavers and we would catch them in our traps sometimes.  We soaked our traps in diesel to get rid of the smell, it never seemed to keep the beaver away.

same thing
The spotted skunk (Spilogale putorius, Fig. 2), also known as the civet cat, ranges in length from 14 to 18 inches, including its tail. Its fur is a black or grayish black, with white stripes on its shoulders and sides, and white spots on its forehead, cheeks, and rump.

The spotted skunk occurs throughout west and southeast Washington. The spotted skunk and striped skunk use similar types of habitat, although the spotted skunk is more likely to be seen in and around forests and woodlands, and is not as tolerant of human activity as the striped skunk

Yes, the civit and spotted are one and the same.. The above mentioned "Civic cat / skunk" is another critter. Typically then can be found at the City Hall or Council meetings.
