Heard this on the radio Monday morning. Then got the Email alert from the NRA later that day. Didn't know I couldn't carry in Snohomish county parks. Kinda surprised Nickels isn't harping about this....man I'm soooo glad to be out of Seattle.
Snohomish County Council to Consider
Overturning '70s-Era Gun Ban!
Please Contact the County Council Today!
At 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, the Snohomish County Council will consider a proposal that would overturn a 1970's-era prohibition on firearms in county parks.
Introduced by Councilmember John Koster, the proposal would modify existing county code so that law-abiding citizens with a Concealed Pistol License could carry a firearm for self-defense while on county park property. The discharge of a firearm, for any purpose other than self-defense, would still be illegal. Enactment of this proposal would bring Snohomish County into compliance with state law.
Please make plans to attend Wednesday's hearing to show your support for our Second Amendment freedoms. The hearing will be held on the eighth floor of the county administration building east located at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.
Also, please contact the members of the Snohomish County Council TODAY and respectfully urge them to support this proposal. Contact information can be found below.
