I don't have a picture of it, but this past summer, alecvg and I were out looking for bears and elk.  We knew Timber was in the same area because his car was parked at the trailhead.  Alecvg and I had gone up the opposite side of the valley that we normally go on and we were looking across when a huge tan thing starts rolling down the hill!  At first we thought it was an elk that slipped.  It turns out it's a dead stump about the size of a Honda Civic rolling down the hill taking 20 foot bounces along the way!  It rolled about 1500 vertical feet and then stopped near the bottom of the valley.  At first I was worried that Timber was somehow involved but I talked to him that evening and he hadn't even heard anything.  We looked for animals or anything that may have caused it but found nothing.  Kind of amazing what can just happen in the wilderness!

I wish i could have got it on video but I was busy fishing. I was on the Sauk a few years back in the infamous Slide Hole and I heard a "thump" up the hill above the river I looked up to see a boulder about the size of a volkswagon barreling down the slide right at us. I turned the boat and slid across the river out of the way. We wouldn't have got hit but we sure would have got wet, it hit the water going about 60 mph and about 15 feet from where we had been.  Pretty sobering...
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

The slide in the background is where that rock came down. Thats what makes that run so good, all the BIG rocks on the bottom  :)

Ya, that was pretty crazy!
I would rather be a conservative nut job, than a liberal with no nuts, and no job!
