dry side wet side
« on: January 20, 2010, 10:52:41 AM »
the first pics are of my brother Aaron's deer, shot it on the second day of opening weekend in the Alta. We had went to our usual spot to do some glassing but other people were walking right through our Honey hole :bash: but we staid for a bit to see if anything might try to sneak out of there. About 2 hrs. went by and we met backup and talked about what we should do next, so i decided to take him to this spot where this rock outcropping stuck out. the outcropping gave you the ability to glass and old burn and some good brushy areas that stayed shaded throughout the day. once we got there we found a comfortable place to glass from and went to work! Not 10 minutes of glassing my brother says BUCK,BUCK,BUCK! So i scoot 5 yards down the outcropping to him and catch move movement of this buck looking up at us, no need to count points on this guy. My brother gets is crosshairs on him and steadies him self, i grab my gun in case he misses and the look on that deers face was look of defeat. While my brothers still trying to steady him self I'm kind of talking him through it and all of sudden bang and the deer flops over dead. That's when the real work began. it took seven ours to get the deer out of what i call a hell hole. The pic with the foot is what we believe to be the bullet from his gun, must have went through the deer bounced off of a rock and come back or something like that.
The second pic is my blacktail, nothing to special, but than again its a mature blackie and that's good enough for me.

Man your brothers deer has some awsome antler growth for the end of April.  Can't believe he was already hard horned as well. :chuckle:

Great bucks!
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
