A little help from u trail cam junkies!!

I am going back to Mont this fall to work for an outfitter. I have been sharing some of my pics with him and he wants me to set up some cameras in his area for the hunters to see whats in there and post on his web-site.
MY QUESTION IS. What is the best portable card reader for this situation.?? We are 30 miles in on mules in a wilderness area, so no power. Is there a card reader that will be good enough to see what is going on in there without a PC or TV??? Thanks allot guys

You should ask BobR if he would sell you a couple of his homebrews. They are really easy to use and you can buy extra batteries for them. Someone on here was trying to hook up an external battery. With that, you could get LOTS of pics and view them right on the camera..no card reader necessary.

Digital camera that takes the same card would be my vote.  Then you've got something that has multiple uses, unlike the readers. I got one for $55 that is compact and the screen takes up about 3/4 of the size of back - decent size to review with. I got it at Sears - GE brand.

That is exactly what I do.  I take my camera and view them right on the camera...

I am building my 4th homebrew, I love them for the fact that I can see my pictures right on the camera itself. All I take in with me to check them is an extra battery and card. Plus when you are looking at the pics you can zoom in on them and see the little things better. I average about $100 per camera. So far they have performed flawlessly, only downside is the night pics aren't as good, short flash range. We can usually still see what is coming in at night, just not as quality.

Depending on what camera you guys are going to use, I have the moultrie 5.0's. They have their reader that plugs directly into the camera, you can find it at cabelas for 49.99....

That thing is $150 just to view your memory card. No way, Go to a pawn shop and buy a digital camera for $50 to $100. Then you can use it to take pics too.

I use sd cards in my trail cams and my digital camera, but it won't let me view my trail cam pics in my digital cam. It says "wrong format" on my digital cam when I put my trailcam card in it.? Any thoughts

Take your card and format it on your laptop. That should fix the issue.

Just remember some Stealth cams use a CF card and some used a sd card that is why the card reader is so much as it can read all types.

That is one thing to consider, and the other thing for 50.00 really dont think you are going to get a digital camera that will take quality picturs

Take your card and format it on your laptop. That should fix the issue.

LAPTOP? I don't have a laptop. I am a total "REDNECK" I can hardly use my trail camera.
