Little Naches, Alta & Bumping, GMU's?
« on: January 20, 2010, 09:39:06 PM »
Are there turkey in Little Naches, Alta and Bumping GMU's?  Do a lot of people hunt these?  I'm was leaning toward Alta GMU, but it sounded like the Chilliwist didn't have turkey, but was full of snakes.  I'm prepared for snakes, (chaps, boots, snake shot, etc.) but I'm not very fond of dealing with them, unless its worth it.

Maybe instead of wondering, head to somewhere that for sure has birds. No need to handicap yourself from the get go by going to an area that has very few birds (Little Naches). Just an idea.

Only turkeys in Alta unit are the welfare birds that live on private property at the bottom of the canyons.  Just as many Rattlers in Alta as the Chilliwist.

I don't like snakes either, but your list of snake supplies kind of cracks me up.  Just get a forked stick and a knife.  Chop there head right off.  Don't touch the head, damn things still try to bite you disconnected.

Skin em out and stretch it.  Cut out the spine, makes a nice neckless and chop up the meat bread and deepfry, makes good snake McNuggets.
