i did it!!
« on: January 22, 2010, 11:20:42 PM »
tonight i sat outside on my back porch with the little electronic portable call i got for christmas and sure enough about 10 minutes into calling i had a coyote walk 30 yards from me. too bad i live in the city limits or i woulda lit him up. Never been yote hunting but have been really wanting to try it lately... and tonight got me extremely interested! not to mention it gave me the buck fever shakes somethin fierce. Tonight was the first time i've ever called in a coyote too!

Congrats.  It is the most addictive hunting I have ever done.  The rush is pretty intense.

DUGANDEER, i don't think my parents or my neighbors would be too happy with me if i touched off the rummy.  Since i only live on about 2 acres  :chuckle:

Shooting a bow legal in your city limits?  Used to be ok where I lived, killed a few off the back porch that way.  But each town or city is different.

Get yourself a bow or at least a camera.  I cant call in anything to save my life so I need to live vicariously through others.  :chuckle:

a bow is legal pretty much anywhere
No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.

Almost anywhere, I know of two towns here that the city ordanance covers anything that fires a projectile.  Also where I used to work any projectile was covered which included bb guns and bows.  Really restrictive I know but there are a few towns/cities out there like that.

Bows don't exactly make a big kaboom! ;)

get you a bolt action 22 with sub sonics, quit and will do the job with a head shot, or go with a bow.

i don't even know what it is.  :dunno: It's a little cheap portable pocket electronic call with a few sounds on it.

Ya, that's funny "Magnolia Park"  :) If you have coyotes that close you must have room to shoot them with a bow. Git-er-done. Keep up the calling, its a lot of fun

I've got five in my whole life with a bow.  If you want to see something completely jump your string, shoot (at) a coyote!  Better have a fast bow, and be top pin close.
I've had them completely swap ends before my arrow got there, when they are out there 40+ yards.  I've lost more arrows...
