Does anyone have actual experience with this call? I have heard complaints about the effectiveness of the remote control.

I owned one and it worked just fine for me. I have heard that you need to be aware of what's between the remote and the call but I never experienced any problems. BTKR also owns one, you might ask him too.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

:)I have had one for over a year, it works GREAT!@!!

I put it in my back yard and ran the remote from the front of my house it worked from over 80 yards. I bought the SP-55 speaker and it will blow your ears out.
BUT it aint magic, operators can screw up and you still have to be a good hunter.

Actually you had to send yours back because of a faulty remote. It wouldn't do the 3 functions it was supposed to do on activation of the button or something similar.

I have had a few issues with my remote as well, but most of the time it works ok.
